After years of working in the construction business, I realized that most builders had neither the ability to execute truly exceptional work, nor the processes in place to deliver on their promised budgets and timelines. Using technology, transparency, and only the best people in the industry, I knew I could execute great work in a more effective way. Today, we offer our clients a depth of process and professionalism that’s extremely hard to find in the construction industry. I don’t mind standing alone, as long as I am leading the way.

Matt Odom, Project Manager

 

Matt has 20 years experience as an electrician working with builders in all phases of the construction process. After continuing his education through advanced management courses, he made the decision to pivot into project management, ultimately joining the Mint team. He enjoys seeing a project come together and making his clients happy.

Matt coaches his children's soccer teams and always has a DIY project in the works.

At Mint, we create custom homes that not only look spectacular, but also enhance the quality of our clients’ lives. That requires honesty, open lines of communication, and expertise shaped by years in the industry. I bring all three to work with me every day.
WHERE IS YOUR PASSION?
I love the challenge of bringing complex, high-end homes to life. Each one presents its own unique set of challenges and obstacles, and I love using my analytical abilities to find optimal solutions. I also enjoy working with our clients each day, guiding them through our process, and establishing a real sense of collaboration. Having that kind of personal connection makes it that much more rewarding when we’re able to turn their initial vision into a long-term reality.
WHAT ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE MAKES YOU UNIQUELY QUALIFIED?
My varied background, which began with a business degree from N.C. State, includes commercial work and production homebuilding in addition to building multi-million dollar custom homes, has given me a unique insight into virtually every aspect of the construction business. I know what real craftsmanship looks like and the time, expertise, and attention to detail required to achieve it. Lastly as a native that grew up in Myers Park, I take great pride in creating fantastic new homes for the area.
OUTSIDE OF WORK, WHAT ONE THING DO YOU DO THAT REFLECTS YOUR SPIRIT?
My wife and I are fortunate to have both of our families living here in Charlotte. Whether it’s getting together for the holidays, or just watching the Panthers on Sunday, it’s great to be surrounded by so many wonderful people. And we’re extremely happy to live right here in Charlotte with our 2 wonderful children.
